Every drone pilot's story starts the same way — looking down at a view most people never get to see. This course is your first step into that world: the rules, the registration, and the foundational skills that turn "I want to fly drones" into "I'm a licensed pilot."
A hands-on introduction to drone technology led by a licensed FAA Part 107 commercial pilot — students see, touch, and explore a real drone and controller up close, learn how it flies, and watch a live demonstration overhead. The workshop wraps with an aerial group photo, sent to students and families afterward. The same workshop format runs for schools, daycares, and community organizations alike.
A drone is only as capable as the person flying it. This course puts the knowledge in your hands first — airspace rules, registration, and the fundamentals that separate a hobbyist from a confident, capable pilot. The equipment will always be replaceable. What you learn here won't be.
This is where every new pilot starts — not with a test, but with the real-world basics of understanding airspace, flying safely, and getting your drone properly registered before it ever leaves the ground.
Taught by a licensed FAA Part 107 commercial pilot with 6+ years of professional flight experience, this 8-module ground school breaks down the foundational knowledge every drone owner needs — whether you're flying for fun or considering it as the start of a new career.
Covering airspace, weather, regulations, and flight fundamentals — watch on your own schedule.
Walk through real drone registration — creating your account, adding your aircraft, and getting your registration number — with zero real data required.
Clear, step-by-step direction for recreational flyers pursuing their required TRUST certificate.
A note on how this course is delivered: the 8 video modules are presented by an AI-generated instructor character, using Audrey's own voice, script, and real-world experience as the source material. The content and expertise are hers — the on-screen presenter is AI.
Once you've completed this course, you're ready for ClearerVue's in-person Core Training Program — where you'll take your drone out of the box for the first time, learn hands-on flight basics, and get in the air with an instructor by your side. If you're serious about turning this into a career, Part 2 is where that actually begins.
No drone? No problem — a training drone is provided as part of your enrollment, at no extra cost. You'll get real hands-on flight time practicing takeoff, landing, and basic maneuvers under direct instruction. (Training drones stay on-site; this is in-class use only, not a take-home rental.)
You're welcome to fly your own equipment during class, with one requirement: proof of liability insurance naming ClearerVue Drone Services as an additional insured is required before class begins. This protects you and your equipment, and it's standard practice across professional drone training programs.
Don't have a policy yet? Short-term, per-flight drone liability insurance is available and affordable — no annual commitment required. Providers like Verifly offer on-demand coverage starting around $10/hour, with instant digital proof of insurance you can show before class.
This course does not offer instruction on DJI Enterprise-series drones.
Space is limited to 3–4 students per session to keep instruction hands-on. A $60 deposit reserves your seat — this isn't an extra fee, it's applied directly toward your $399 total.
Your deposit stays valid for 60 days. If you can't make your session, just let us know at least 48 hours in advance and your deposit rolls forward to a future date at no cost. Cancellations or no-shows with less than 48 hours' notice forfeit the deposit, since a reserved seat couldn't be offered to another student in time. You'll also get a reminder message before your session so nothing slips through the cracks.
